After Hours: A Huge Success
On Thursday 4th September, Barnaby’s Lounge in central Hastings was buzzing with energy as we hosted the very first FreshOnline After Hours, a brand-new networking event designed to connect entrepreneurs, freelancers, creatives, and business owners across the 1066 area.Â
From open networking and casual drinks to inspiring talks and a lively charity raffle, the evening delivered on its promise of connection, collaboration, and community.Â
Inspiring Guest Speakers
The highlight of the night came from our guest speakers, each bringing passion and perspective to the room:Â
Cale from Kangaroo Connections gave a heartfelt talk on the emotional journey behind launching his organisation, moving many in the audience with his story of turning personal challenges into positive community change.Â
- Â Rhys from RB Running & Wellbeing shared an engaging and practical talk on the importance of mental health and balancing it with exercise, offering insights relevant to both business and everyday life.
- Tam from FreshOnline rounded off the talks by highlighting the power of local collaboration and digital confidence, emphasising our mission to help 1066 businesses thrive online.
Community Spirit and a Charity RaffleÂ
True to our community-first approach, the event featured a charity raffle in support of St Michael’s Hospice, a cause close to many hearts across Hastings. Attendees had the chance to win some fantastic prizes, including a £395 website and marketing audit donated by FreshOnline.
Congratulations to the lucky winner, Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors, and thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and helped raise funds for such an important local charity.Â
A Night of New ConnectionsÂ
Beyond the formal talks, the real magic of After Hours came from the conversations in the room. From speed networking challenges to relaxed chats over drinks, new collaborations and friendships were sparked, proving just how strong and supportive the 1066 business community can be.Â
