Our Favourite Digital Marketing Apps
Want to know which digital marketing apps we are using here at FreshOnline? We are great believers in trying out new technology and finding apps to make life easy. Here are some of our favourite apps for 2019 which you might want to try out for your business.
Hootsuite helps with social media marketing by allowing you to post content to all your accounts at once. If your business uses multiple social media platforms then this can be a huge time saver. It can also take care of scheduling posts in advance and choosing the most effective times to post for your audience. The free account option allows you to connect up to 3 social media accounts and schedule up to 30 posts. Premium options start from £25 per month and allow you to connect more profiles, schedule unlimited posts, and unlock in-depth performance metrics.
Canva is a “drag and drop” design app used to create web and print media design and graphics. It comes with hundreds of customizable templates. You can import your own images or choose from the built-in library of stock images. There are also photo filters, icons & shapes and hundreds of fonts that you can use allowing you to create bespoke designs. The built-in brand kit also allows you to save your logo, brand colours and fonts that you want to use regularly. You can get started with a free version of the app, however many of the features are only available with a premium account. We would recommend the Canva for Work option priced at $12.95 per month.
Adobe Spark lets you create and share eye-catching graphics, web pages and videos for your social media and website. You can upload your own images and video or access millions of stock images. There are 3 elements to Adobe spark which can be purchased separately as ios apps or together in a desktop version. Spark Page, for the creation of one-page websites where all of the content is accessible via scrolling. Spark Post, for the creation of social media graphics and photos, overlaid with text and design filters. Thirdly, for the creation of simple animated videos is Spark Video — you can edit your videos, add images and icons, user voiceovers, and add background music. The desktop version is £10.10 per month. However, the individual ios apps are priced at £8.99 per month each.
Instagram now has over 1 billion monthly active users. Captivate is an ios app to accelerate your Instagram account growth. It allows you to mass follow and unfollow accounts and mass like posts. Important accounts can be whitelisted to protect them from being unfollowed. The cloud version also allows for the completion of actions slowly over time from their server, without the need to be logged in. With support for multiple accounts, this is our go-to digital marketing app for targeting followers to grow our Instagram accounts. There is a free trial version, but we recommend the £9.99 cloud version which includes all available features.
If you are investing time and money into search engine optimisation, you are going to want to track your position on Google for key search terms. SEO Edge is available to download on ios and allows you to monitor search engine rankings (SERPs). You can see how you rank for particular keywords and who you are competing against. The app also includes graphs to visualize and monitor progress over time. The pro pack (£2.99 for 3 months) allows you to track unlimited websites and keywords, including your clients and competitors. Subsequently, the free version allows you to track 5 keywords across 2 domains.
Grammarly is a free writing tool that checks your spelling, grammar and writing style. If like us you write a lot of blogs, website copy and other online content, Grammarly can help you publish mistake-free work. There is a free plugin version which can be easily added to Google Chrome or other browsers. Popular platforms such as Gmail, Outlook, Google Docs, Facebook and Twitter support the use of Grammarly. Priced from $11.66 per month, the premium version provides more detailed suggestions on structure and grammar. We would suggest trying out the free version first as we have found this a great tool without having to upgrade.
